OCD is in your brain

It’s interesting to hear someone else describe their actions as being intercepted by their brain. For me, as a kid, it was automatic and something I actually relied on. For instance, I knew that I needed to wash my hands because my brain registered my hands as dirty after I would touch somethingthat was regarded as unclean like a football. I never obsessed about my hands Being dirty, because they never went near my mouth or face without my brain saying “OK they were last cleaned at this time and we haven’t touched anything unclean since then“. When I discovered that other people didn’t have the same mechanism, it felt like a superpower to me.
